Students collect data and show it in tables, scaled pictographs, scaled bar graphs, and line plots, with titles, labels, and units. They complete displays and build them from a data set.
In a scaled graph, one symbol or one step on the scale stands for more than 1. If each ★ means 4 students, then 5 stars show 5 × 4 = 20 students. This connects graphs to multiplication.
Official benchmarkCollect and represent numerical and categorical data with whole-number values using tables, scaled pictographs, scaled bar graphs or line plots. Use appropriate titles, labels and units.
