1. About FastChomp

FastChomp is an educational math practice platform operated by Tropical Learning LLC. It helps students practice grade-level mathematics while allowing parents to monitor progress, manage rewards, and support their children's learning.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when parents and students use FastChomp. Additional information about student data and parental rights is available in our Children's Privacy Notice.

2. Information We Collect

The information we process depends on whether the service is being used by a parent or a student and which features are used.

Parent information

We may process a parent's name, email address, account identifiers, authentication and account settings, subscription status, email preferences, and information the parent provides when using FastChomp.

Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. FastChomp does not collect or store complete payment card numbers. We may maintain subscription identifiers, billing status, and limited transaction-related information needed to manage subscriptions, provide support, and maintain required business records.

Student information

Student profiles are created and managed through a parent account. Depending on the features used, information may include a first name or nickname, username, grade level, avatar, profile settings, and credentials used to access the profile.

We also maintain learning and activity information such as practice sessions, questions and submitted answers, accuracy, progress, points, streaks, badges, achievements, and rewards.

Technical information

When FastChomp is used, technical information may be processed, including IP addresses, browser and device information, timestamps, session identifiers, and diagnostic information needed to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure FastChomp.
  • Create and manage parent and student accounts.
  • Deliver math practice and learning features.
  • Track learning progress and achievements.
  • Show student progress to the associated parent.
  • Manage points, badges, streaks, and rewards.
  • Send account, consent, and learning-related communications.
  • Manage subscriptions and process payments.
  • Detect errors, prevent misuse, and improve service reliability.
  • Measure aggregate website traffic on public and parent-facing pages, and, with your consent, analyze optional website usage to improve the experience for families.

4. Children's Privacy and Parental Consent

FastChomp is designed for families, and student profiles are associated with a parent account. We seek to limit information collected about children to what is reasonably necessary to provide and protect the educational service.

Before a student profile can be created, the parent or legal guardian must complete our consent process. A verification email is sent to the email address associated with the parent account. Its confirmation link expires after 24 hours. Opening the link does not automatically provide consent: the person using the link must review the notice, select an initially unchecked consent box, and click the confirmation button. FastChomp then records the confirmation.

A parent may withdraw consent through their FastChomp account. Following withdrawal, the associated students cannot sign in or continue using authenticated student features until valid consent is provided again. Withdrawing consent does not, by itself, delete existing student information; parents may also delete a student profile through their account.

For details about the categories of student information we process and how to exercise parental rights, please read our Children's Privacy Notice.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate, secure, and maintain FastChomp. These providers support services such as website and database hosting, account authentication, subscription processing, email delivery, technical error monitoring, and website traffic measurement.

These providers may process information only as necessary to deliver their services, subject to applicable contractual obligations and privacy protections.

Payments are processed by Stripe. FastChomp does not collect or store complete payment card numbers.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure usage of our public website and parent-facing pages. Google may process analytics-related information as described in Section 6 of this Privacy Policy. We do not intentionally share student personal information with Google Analytics.

We do not sell personal information to third parties.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

FastChomp uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, and essential platform functionality.

We may also process limited technical and diagnostic information to detect errors, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the security and reliability of our services.

Cookie-free website traffic measurement

We may use cookie-free website analytics on public and parent-facing pages to understand how people discover FastChomp. This measurement may include visitor counts, pages visited, referral sources, and approximate geographic location, such as city and country, inferred from network information. Approximate location may be inaccurate.

This measurement does not use analytics cookies or precise GPS location. It is not intended to identify visitors, create advertising profiles, or monitor student learning activities. It is not enabled in student-facing pages. Limited technical information, including network information, may be processed to provide these statistics.

Cookie-free traffic measurement is separate from the optional Google Analytics service described below. Your choice about Google Analytics cookies does not control this separate traffic measurement.

We do not intentionally send student names, account identifiers, learning responses, progress information, or other student personal information to this website traffic analytics service.

Optional Google Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors interact with our public website and parent-facing pages. This helps us evaluate website usage and improve the experience for families.

Analytics may involve cookies and the processing of information such as page visits, approximate geographic location, browser and device information, and interaction data. Google may also process technical information, including IP addresses, in accordance with its applicable terms and policies.

Google Analytics is optional. We do not activate Google Analytics unless you accept analytics cookies. Declining Google Analytics does not prevent you from using FastChomp.

We do not intentionally use Google Analytics to track student activity or collect children's personal information. Analytics is not enabled for student-facing pages, and we do not intentionally send student names, account identifiers, learning responses, or other student personal information to Google Analytics.

You may withdraw your analytics consent at any time through the analytics preference controls made available on our website.

For information about Google's privacy practices, visit Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising or use children's personal information for targeted advertising.

7. Selling Personal Information and Advertising

We do not sell children's personal information or use it for targeted advertising. FastChomp does not offer public student profiles, public chat, or child-to-child messaging features.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide FastChomp, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, meet applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or de-identified in accordance with applicable retention practices and law.

Deleting a student profile removes the associated student information from the application, subject to any information we are required or permitted to retain by law and applicable backup or service-provider retention processes.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Parents can manage certain account and student details through their authenticated FastChomp account. A parent or legal guardian may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with their child, and may refuse further collection or use of that information.

Parents may withdraw parental consent and delete student profiles through available account controls. For other requests, contact us at privacy@fastchomp.app. We may take reasonable steps to verify the requester's identity and relationship to the student before fulfilling a request.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as FastChomp evolves. If changes materially affect how children's information is collected, used, or disclosed, we will provide appropriate notice and obtain new parental consent when required by law.
